Velvet swimcrab
The Galician crab (Necora puber) is one of the richest and tastiest shellfish. We can find varied and subtle flavors, from the delicate meat of its legs, to the resounding flavor of its interior.
Also called andaricas, it is a brachyuran and decapod crustacean that belongs to the Portunidae family. It lives near the coast among the rocks, stones and crevices, even in muddy bottoms such as rafts and sand with gravel. It inhabits depths no greater than 70 meters. Its sense of territoriality is very strong so it attacks intruders that penetrate it.
